Day four - a loud sigh and an angry mumble doesn't mean "come back soon!"

Since we're a day ahead of my original itinerary, we decided to add in the sights of the Colosseum and this Campo di Fiori area that Nat was dying to see and swore it had great shopping. It took some time to convince Nat to go see some old run down columns but in the end she said it was one of the best sights she's seen. Again, the cheapness was apparent. So, firstly, i had no intensions of taking a tour of the inside of this empty sight and it was comfirmed by a non-business sense tour guide that recommended us not to go in because there was nothing to see! Secondly, there were these men dressed up in Roman clothes that were selling themselves to tourits for a picture with them. As smart as we were (or should i say as cheap as were are!) we strategically positioned ourselves one at a time in front of these dressed up Romans and captured what could have cost us a wasted 10 euros! Soon they figured us out and we had to move on.

Our next stop was the Campo di Fiori which is a neighbourhood that is full of flowers by day and then a "party town" by night. We missed the flowers by the time we got there and left just before this supposedly night life were to start. By the looks of it, Nat's tour book had lied about this place! It said the shopping was amazing and the only thing that was amazing about the shopping was that it only took Nat 15 minutes to walk through these stores while pouting! I did feel bad for her as she did look really disappointed by this mislead information...

Then we walked along this scary street (Via Giulia) that was built for people to walk all the way to the Vatican. We just used it to walk home. Before going home, we filled our tummies at a place Nat likes to refer to as an "Italian Denny's". It was pretty good and i drank wine! Me! And a whole glass too! We then left (as it felt like they were kicking us out anyway by the way they kept coming to take my salad away and then giving us the bill before we asked for it) and walked next door to a little coffee shop. Man, oh man, Italians just don't love us! Now, i don't understand a word of Italian but i'm sure a loud sigh and an angry mumble that sounds kinda like "Mama mia" followed by some 'f' sounding words doesn't mean "come back soon, we enjoy your company!" We did meet a nice Asian fellow at this coffee shop. So while Nat was annoying, i mean ordering our drinks from the man behind the counter, i made my way to the back to use the little girl's room. As I was approaching the much needed toilet for a tinkle, i heard a beautiful, familiar sound...no, it wasn't James's sweet voice!...it was English! A group of New Yorker's and Californians whom i do not know how they are all related came to Rome for a group visit. As the wine was working through my body, i felt the verbal diarrhea coming out..."you speak English!" i speak English!" what a dork i was but hey, i was excited to understand someone other than Nat! He's from London but orignally from Cali. I again got stupidly excited and announced, maybe even shouted at him that we were too going to make our way to London. As he reaches into his wallet to look for his business card so we can contact him when we get there, i told him not to be offended as i probably wouldn't look him up...I guess he was taken aback with my comment because he stopped fumbling through his wallet for this contact card and tried to change the subject. In my defence, i wasn't being rude to him, i was just being my blunt and honest self. And really, what were we all going to do, have a foursome? So Nat and I decided to have a party in our room with the wine that we purchased earlier that day and with my new lego ipod speaker thing that i just recently purchased, and we did just that.
Nat will probably kill me for recording this next part but i really need to share. Nat's quite the entertainer while we are sleeping. Not only is she singing to me (like really singing with words), she also adds a base to her song (her snoring) and sometimes she even has a rapping part (her talking)! sorry Nat, but if i don't write it down, how can we remember this?
